Hunter Rail has been established to add value to mining operations along the eastern seaboard. Along with the delays in developing further port capacity, rail has also lagged behind coal export demand causing infrastructure based bottlenecks. Initially dedicated to the supply chain delivery for various Tinkler Group investments, the management quickly identified an existing need from current miners to improve the nature of the rail support between the mine gate and port infrastructure.
Hunter Rail is also an independent rail service provider capable of providing bulk rail movements to port on a long term contractual basis. The company is also finalising site works for commencement of the construction of its own maintenance and refuelling centre which will service both Hunter Rail needs and those of the rail fleet operators.
